Stratified Horses
The imagery within my Stratified Horses portfolio fits appropriately into an evolving personal style of photography I call Western Metamorphosis. It is a genre that allows me to intimately explore, as well as juxtapose, the animate and inanimate subjects related to my ranching family background. The imagery reveals my emotional connection with and deep appreciation for the beautiful and spirited ranch animals. While the animal portraits evoke something key to their essence, the layering of contextual architecture, weathered materials, and nature provides new perspectives that are visually and mentally engaging to me.
I am intrigued by the blending of the animal forms, nature, and structural ranch elements. These interrelationships instill a sense of mystery and contribute to the rich texture and rhythm of each image.
